How do the panels join and attach?
The raised joints you see are called seams. The panels also need a way to attach to the roof beneath them. Ask the contractor to explain both, because similar-looking roofs can use different installation methods.
What happens around vents, skylights, and walls?
Ask how the quote handles roof openings and places where the roof meets a wall. These areas need water-shedding details called flashing. Find out which existing parts will stay, be replaced, or need further inspection.
Will this product work on every slope of your roof?
A porch and the main house may have different roof slopes. Ask the contractor to measure them and explain which roofing product works on each area. The name “standing seam” alone does not answer that question.
What should you check beyond the roof color?
Ask to see a real sample and read the proposed finish’s care and warranty information. Compare it at your home in different light, and find out whom to contact if you have an appearance or workmanship concern.
